Girona airport is located around 80 kilometres north of Barcelona, whilst Barcelona airport (El Prat) is located to the south. To get from one airport to another without a car, you'll have to use public transport. It's quite a complicated journey, so if you're not renting a car then your only real direct option is a taxi, which will likely cost you around €100 for the privilege.
One of the easiest ways that you can reach Barcelona Airport is via the train service run by RENFE. One great advantage of this method is that you can use a T10 ticket, which is a general public transport ticket in Barcelona. The ticket costs €9.45 (December 2012) and you can use it 10 times.
When we've planned a big trip for the whole family, one thing that's common practice is arriving at the airport insanely early to make sure the fun isn't ruined for everyone. The problem is, all this rushing can make you hungry, and if you're waiting for a flight, it can seem like a long time. Here are some of the best places that you can grab a snack, have lunch, or even have dinner.
El Prat de Llobregat Aeropuerto or El Prat Airport is the busiest airport in Barcelona. Situated 13 km
from the bustling Barcelona city centre, Barcelona EL Prat welcomes over 30 million of visitors every
year and serves as base to major airlines flying to Barcelona. As per the statistics provided by AENA,
Barcelona Airport has already catered to over 30.67 million passengers in the first ten months of 2012,
which represents an increase of 4% air traffic in comparison to number of tourists Barcelona airport
received for the same time period last year.
Did you know that you can take the public bus to Barcelona airport? It might not seem like a big deal, but it is one of the most economic methods of travelling toward the airport, and you can even use your T-10 ticket or pass to make it even cheaper. The bus goes through both T1 and T2, so you don't have to catch a bus to a specific terminal like on the Aerobus. The main disadvantage of this method is that the journey time is higher owing to the fact that the bus makes many more stops than the Barcelona Aerobus.
